Incorporating Inquiry to Enhance Engagement
Fall 2008 (Course will be repeated in Jan 2009)

Join us for a two part workshop on incorporating inquiry to enhance science education. Learn what forms inquiry can take and dispel some of the myths associated with integrating inquiry instruction. Engage in an Inquiry Challenge from the Ohio Resource Center. Seamlessly incorporate inquiry into existing lessons. Create additional inquiry-based, learning cycle lessons.

After completing Incorporating Inquiry to Enhance Engagement , science educators at all levels will be able to:

    • Deepen their understanding of science as inquiry
    • Align instruction to the science content and process skills in the Ohio Academic Content Standards
    • Incorporate rich, relevant science content
    • Locate and evaluate science resources online
    • Reflect on adaptations necessary to meet individual student needs

Through iDiscovery, participants get continued support as they integrate inquiry into their classrooms. While sharing ideas and lesson plans with colleagues, they earn 2 free semester hours of graduate credit from Miami University.

Graduate credit (1 or 3 quarter hours) is available from The Ohio State University at a reduced rate.
