Continue Your Learning
Current research shows the importance of continuing professional development with rich follow on activities throughout the school year. TLC Learning Consultants offer many options to continue your learning and support the implementation of new ideas and techniques.
In order to accommodate teachers' demanding schedules, we offer several options:
- Face to face meetings can be scheduled intermittently thoroughout the quarter, semester, or year. Time between meetings allows teachers to try new teaching strategies, knowing they will have additional opportunities to discuss successes and problems with their colleagues.
- Online follow-ons can be scheduled at a specific time (synchronous) for all teachers to continue their discussions. Online interaction can also be asynchrounous with discussion topics given, but teachers respond within a window of time, at their convenience.
- Through iDiscovery, participants get continued support as they integrate inquiry into their classrooms. While sharing ideas and lesson plans with colleagues, they earn 2 free semester hours of graduate credit from Miami University. More information can be found at www.iDiscovery.org.
